Today I am launching a blog series called “Beauty Profile,” in which I share with you skincare or makeup products that I feel are worthy of exploring and possibly adding to your collection. These items will hopefully serve to make your beauty routine easier and more enjoyable.
My philosophy on makeup is that it should enhance your already existing beauty. There are no “rules.” For me, I enjoy the routine of putting on a bit of highlighter or a timeless lipstick. The process itself serves as self-care for me; it is a way to slow down and pamper myself. In the hurried day-to-day, it’s nice for us all to do that regularly.
Charlotte Tilbury recently released her Instant Look in a Palette in Beauty Glow. Previously, she had released two different versions of this palette in Natural Beauty and Seductive Beauty. The premise of this palette is to be able to create an entire radiant look in 5 minutes. I am drawn to its old Hollywood glamour aesthetic; it transforms me to a beautiful time each time I apply the products.
Containing 3 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, a bronzer, and a highlighter, this convenient compact is ideal to minimize bulk when traveling. The Beauty Glow has shades to create warm, bronze looks. Although the swatches appear light, the powders showed up easily on my light to light-medium skin tone. With the exception of the “Smoke” shade, each powder has a subtle shimmery effect.
Eyeshadows: The shades complement one another well to create a natural or glamorous look. Since the “Smoke” color is a matte medium-dark, warm brown, it is not stark and gives a softened, smokey eye.
Bronze/Highlight: On me, the bronzer serves as a contour and bronzer without looking too orange or ashy. It also doubles as an eyeshadow. The white gold highlight gives a balanced glow to the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and cupid’s bow. To slightly deepen or warm up the color, I mixed a little bit of the eye brighten shade.
Cheek Swish & Pop: These are pigmented! The swish shade appears terracotta on my skin and looks good on the cheeks blended back towards the hairline (serving as a blush/bronzer). The pop color gives a healthy, fresh flush on the apples of the cheek.
Overall, I am enjoying this palette because it makes getting ready and travel makeup easy. Each powder is versatile and can used beyond its intended purpose. For a fun spring pop of color, pair with a coral lip such as Charlotte Tilbury in Miranda May. For an everyday nude-peach, try Super Cindy.
