On days that I do not feel particularly cheery, it can be so tempting to put on my sweats and oversized t-shirt, turn on Netflix, and call it a day. While certain days warrant such activities, other times necessitate action. For the most part, once I start moving and being productive, I can usually get myself out of this off-kilter mood; the challenging part is to cross the threshold from idle to active. To start, I like to put together a daring (and darling) outfit to “trick” myself into this energized state. A red lip and a little bit of comfortable height (note: platform heel) helps.
For this look, crimson takes center-stage in the form of this bold jumper. I like its masculine details with the pinstripe and suspenders (can be worn up or down). It’s lined so its substantial but also airy due to the linen material. To complement, I added a red liquid lipstick in a similar shade. Casual, relaxed bottoms can be tricky to pair, because one can easily get lost in the excess fabric and appear frumpy. I added a fitted bodysuit, higher heels, and feminine makeup to combat this. I love this classic combo of red, black, and white with an interesting twist.
You may know that I am no stranger to beautiful walls. I had a blast shooting this look against this vibrant pink wall. Talk about a dose of happiness! Stay tuned for more style, beauty (read: NATURAL SKINCARE and MAKEUP), and helpful tips.
P.S. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! You are superwomen.
