A couple months ago I went on a little desert adventure. After several years of below average rainfall, California finally experienced increased rain this past winter and spring. In response, the California landscape flourished. Suddenly, plants and flowers sprung up after prolonged hibernation. This awakening was fittingly named the “Super Bloom.” One place to experience such refreshing beauty was Anza-Borrego State Park. With my flower map in hand, I explored the various plant life and soaked in the vibrant colors. In fact, my recent fixation over citrine and coral can be attributed to fields of desert sunflowers and the majestic ocotillo that I encountered.
Isn’t this lovely? To beat the heat (and crowds), I woke up early each day of this trip to explore, hike, and revel in the natural beauty. Truly, getting outside and making the most of the daylight is incredibly refreshing to the soul. I feel renewed, immediately inspired, and filled with a sense of joy and peace.
Yes, the boots below are making an appearance again. They have been pretty versatile for me. And no, these aren’t my hiking shoes.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay young at heart, my friends.
