Besides warmer weather, summer is a great time for a wedding. Personally, I love celebrating friends. I love seeing family and friends gather to support two people in marriage. It’s a great time to reflect on your own relationship with either the bride or groom (or both), and often times it’s the perfect occasion to reunite with old friends that have been separated by time or distance. I’ve attended couple weddings already this year and have quite a few more exciting ones in the next several months.

This is an outfit I wore to a recent wedding. I was having one of my girly moments in this pastel look. I adore the fluttery cap sleeves of this lavender dress that has a defined waist as well as the pleating in the front and the double-tiered flutter hem. To draw from the color of the dress, I topped it with my vintage pink coat that has hints of periwinkle in the floral embroidery. This 60s coat is one of my favorite vintage pieces. It’s lined but quite lightweight and has three-quarter sleeves for warmer evenings. To dress it up and add to the vintage vibe, I added Art-Deco inspired gold and silver heels. They kept up with me for a full night of dancing. I have been enjoying this nude foldover crossbody that serves as a sizeable clutch to fit all the essentials (i.e., phone, keys, mirror, lipstick, etc.). The leather is soft and the simple design easily translates from special occasion to casual, everyday wear.

At this point, I have had the honor and privilege of attending multiple weddings. The key to choosing an outfit as a wedding guest is something stylish but comfortable. I have made the mistake before of wearing an outfit that looked great when I initially put it on only to find myself self-conscious or uncomfortable hours into the night.
