Happy Friday and Happy September 1st! It’s a long weekend, and the passing of Labor Day signifies the unofficial start of fall. Although the season won’t officially commence until three more weeks, I am already dreaming of leaves changing, crisp morning air, sitting by the fireplace, and gathering with loved ones for the holidays.

Yes, for now, I’ll have to keep on dreaming as this heatwave rolls through Southern California. However, I am attending my first college football game of the season and hosting a tailgate. Football and back-to-school affairs are so nostalgically fall. Speaking of school, today I am sharing a no-fuss, no-muss outfit that is perfect for back-to-school, tailgating (add your jersey of choice), or a long day out-and-about. I wore this recently to a full day at the Disney California Adventure Park. Furthermore, minus the bag and sunglasses, this outfit cost under $50. Major style and major score.

To ensure I stay comfortable, I wore a light, breathable t-shirt that I got in the boy’s section at Target for $5. If this outfit looks a little tomboyish, that’s the reason why. The gray, off-white jeans are stretchy and allows easy movement without feeling too tight. A worn-in denim jacket is the perfect topper for the slightly cooler summer nights. Since I planned to be in the sun all day, I brought a playful pair of marble sunglasses that complemented both my shirt and jeans. I also made sure to apply adequate sunblock and re-applied the essential mineral powder sunblock that comes in a brush applicator. To carry just the basics and a water bottle or two, I brought this gorgeous brown leather bag that can be carried as a tote, crossbody, or clutch.

The star of the show are definitely my Superga sneakers. The faux leather makes this otherwise casual outfit a bit more refined. Reasons I LOVE these shoes: 1) comfortable and lightweight 2) streamlined and simple design 3) matches every outfit 4) makes feet look slim 4) no discomfort after 14 hours on my feet.

This was a nice day at Disney California Adventure. I visited Cars Land for the time first time, went on the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and found the most perfect mosaic backdrop for these photos. I felt like I could recapture my youth, play with careless abandon, and eat lots of delicious food.

Wishing you a productive, restful, or adventurous (whichever you need) long weekend!
