By now, you may know that I find any excuse to be outside and/or travel (especially if you’re on my IG/InstaStories). These photos were taken a couple months ago when I made the hike up to Potato Chip Rock, located in San Diego County. For years I had wanted to visit this unique rock that overlooks a breathtaking view. Its precarious appearance from the side perspective is part of its appeal…plus, it makes for a fun photo. On this particular day, I woke up an hour before sunrise to make the 30-minute drive to the base of the trail. It was quiet and dim as I made my way up. With each step, I watched as the clouds slowly gave way to the light of the sun as it rose above, casting a warm glow upon the mountain.
When I reached the summit, I soaked in the beautiful view and stopped to enjoy it for a bit. On top of the rock, it was unnerving to get so close to the edge but it provided the best view on the mountain.
For this hike, comfort was key. I paired a cropped long-sleeved shirt with my leggings from Athleta. I love the classic colors chosen for the colorblock top and the mesh side panels of the leggings. Also, these Nike sneakers have a memory foam cushion inside the shoes. Hands down, they are the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever worn. During the chilliest part of the morning, I topped this with a thick-knit, oversized cardigan.
An an avid hiker, I want to know what are you favorite hikes? I love visiting national parks and need more to put on my list. Zion and Banff have been on my list for AGES. Also, as someone who practically pushes the line of appropriate athleisure for all occasions, what are your favorite brands for workout pieces? I love the styles and prints from Athleta and these leggings from Zella are amazingly versatile. I’ve tried on the lightweight leggings from Alo Yoga, and they are AMAZING but I can’t pull the trigger with such a high price point. The same goes for Outdoor Voices. I enjoy pieces that can withstand a tough workout (while of course, looking stylish) and transition from studio to errands to dinner seamlessly. Any suggestions are appreciated and will be researched by yours truly. I hope you all have an adventurous weekend!
P.S. The nail polish I’m wearing here has been my favorite red for years. It’s Clambake by Essie.
