Ladies, I am excited about today’s post. Today I will be sharing my “no-makeup” makeup look. This is geared towards the working gals, busy moms, students on the move, or just someone that can’t be bothered. I’ve always struggled with this concept of no-makeup makeup. Other interpretations were often too time-consuming, required too many products, or still looked heavy and well, like a lot of makeup. This look takes five minutes to apply, looks natural while minimizing imperfections, and most of the makeup can be applied with the fingers. Read along to find out my secret…
Base
The base is the most important step in order to achieve natural makeup. Prep your skin as you normally would ensuring to include a moisturizer for well-hydrated skin. I have been a fan of the La Roche-Posay chemical sunblock for while now. I recently discovered their mineral sunblock (above) which is lightly tinted. This has changed the game on my makeup application game. The formula is ultra-light, watery, and absorbs into the skin immediately upon application. The tint is subtle, more so than a tinted moisturizer, CC, or BB cream, but it has just enough to veil small imperfections, give a hint of healthy glow to the skin, and provide broad-spectrum protection with SPF 50. I use my hands to pat it into my face.
Next, I use my fingers to apply the Glossier Stretch Concealer (shade Medium) under my eyes, around the nose, and any other trouble spots. This dewy formula provides light coverage and easily melds into the skin. Setting this concealer is a must to keep it in place. The key to natural makeup is applying a very light all-over base and then spot concealing specific areas so skin still looks like skin and not like a mask. For more coverage to hide more troublesome spots or breakouts, I like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
To set everything in place, I use a small tapered brush to sweep the Maybelline Fit Me powder under the eyes and then a large flat powder brush for the whole face. This Maybelline powder is nice, because it’s almost translucent, adding a hint of coverage with the cakiness.
As I’ve mentioned before, the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer is the best bronzer I’ve tried. The powder is lightweight and applies smoothly. Because the shade is in between a bronzer and contour shade for me, I use it as both. I use the same powder brush to apply the Butter Bronzer in the hollows of the cheeks, forehead, jawline, and sweep up into the apples of the cheeks to use this as a blush replacement.
Eyes/Brows
To balance such a natural look, fluttery lashes and full brows are a must. For the brows, I use my trusty brow kit from Benefit Cosmetics, and dip into the wax and powder sides to define and fill in the brows. Then I curl the lashes and apply extra coats of the Loreal Lash Paradise mascara for extra length. If I want a bit of definition, I’ll use the bronzer as eyeshadow, and place it on the eyelids and blend up into the crease.
Lips
I provided two options for lip color. Both are universally-flattering and can be applied (and re-applied) without the use of a mirror. For those of you who like a natural matte lip, the Glossier Balm Dot Com in Leo is the perfect subtle nude. Tip: this balm can double as a blush for a hint of color. For a glossy option, the rosy nude Gloss Bomb from Fenty Beauty is perfect (P.S. full review on Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line here).
The full makeup look is shown below. Personally I loved how it turned out. As I get a bit older, it’s nice to embrace my own skin a bit more. I can see myself in this for weekend errands or swap out the nude lip for a crimson one for a hangout with the girls.

Top to Bottom: L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara, Glossier Stretch Concealer, La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral SPF, Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings Tame & Shape Kit, Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, Glossier Generation G in Leo, Maybelline Fit Me Set + Smooth Powder
