Happy Friday dears! Have you ever had just an incredibly positive and uplifting week? By all other means, this week has been a relatively normal one, but at the same time it’s been full of joy. It started out with a visit from one of my dearest friends last weekend where we chatted about life and living creatively and did normal, everyday errands including trips to a plant nursery, Home Depot, and Target. From anyone else’s perspective it was mundane, but sometimes a normal weekend is exactly what is needed.
An over-sized and lightweight sweater, black leggings, and fitted tall boots. This formula is one of my go-to outfits. By now, some of you may know that I really enjoy being comfortable. A basic pair of black leggings is a must-have in my closet. Yet, it’s hard to find that perfect pair that has the right fit, rise, and fabric density. This pair is from Zella, Nordstrom’s workout line. As evidenced here and here, I am a fan of Zella’s leggings. They have an assortment of cuts, lengths, and styles. I am particularly inclined towards their high-rise style (perfect coverage and support). The weight of the fabric is thicker with light compression and does not become transparent with movement.
Withe leggings, I prefer pairing them with an over-sized sweater/top for modest coverage. This forest green sweater is thin enough for layering. Its exaggerated size is balanced by the V-neck and fitted sleeves. This sweater would also look great slightly tucked into a pair of skinny jeans or layered on top of a fitted dress/skirt. For added warmth, I paired this outfit with flat over-the-knee boots and a knitted cape that has a small-scaled design for visual interest.
As always, thank you from stopping by this blog for some Friday fun. Thank you for subscribing and the kind words. I’m busy prepping exciting posts…Valentine’s Day-related content, update on my Project Pan (intro here), and the debut of a new blog series (hint: I cover this quite a bit on my Instagram/Instastories). Stay tuned! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
